Hi I’m Nikki – a forty-something Brit living in the UK and the creator of Travelling With – a blog sharing my experiences of travelling the world.

I have always loved travelling and exploring new places and I was definitely born with a need to travel and to see as much of the world as I possibly can as well as a love of Disney that I have never grown out of! Luckily I have spent my entire adult life working full time in the travel industry allowing me to see even more of the world than I once ever thought possible.

I created Travelling With back in 2012 when I was planning a trip to China and I spent so much time trying to find the answers to simple information that I desperately wanted to know which simply did not exist online or were extremely out of date. It was then that I decided to take as many photos as I could on that trip and write about my experiences in detail (I always include the information that I would want to know when researching somewhere new including any mistakes that I made along the way) to help anyone else planning a similar trip – and I have continued doing the same thing to this very day.

Writing the Travelling With blog is a hobby of mine and it brings me absolute joy to be able to help people travel the world whether that be by explaining how to get somewhere, sharing different travel tips and advice as well as how to save money along the way. Travel does not need to be complicated, it is not always expensive and you certainly do not need to book organised excursions everywhere you go as you can easily visit most places on your own with just a little bit of research online before you go.

Along with constantly travelling for work, I try to travel as much as I can in my time off and my goal in life is to try and visit as many countries as I possibly can and all of my travel experiences over the years have been paid for by myself. As of April 2025 I have currently visited 72 countries around the world (you can see which ones here) and I have also visited every state in the USA.

Over the years my blog has evolved and as well as all of my travel guides, I also write travel diaries and post photos (I love photography) as a way to remember all of the trips that I have taken.

I try to keep this blog updated where and when I can but I often post photos and stories on Instagram almost in real time (when I am not in a state of constant jetlag!) so if you want to follow me on there, please do!

You will hardly ever find any personal photos of me on my blog although you might get an occasional glimpse once in a while on Instagram. The simple truth is that I’m a little camera shy in real life and I would much rather post photos all of these amazing places around the world instead – they’re so much better to look at!
