1. Disney Treasure Western Caribbean Cruise: Day Seven – Castaway Cay

Waking up and seeing Castaway Cay in front of you can either be the happiest or the most saddest feeling in the world. On one hand you are happy as you have a day in absolute paradise but you can also feel so sad as the majority of the time, the view of Castaway Cay means that it is the last day of your cruise and that you will soon be back in the real world. It was truly a sad feeling for me on this day as I was having simply the best time onboard the Disney Treasure and I definitely was not ready to disembark the ship the following morning. (more…)

  2. Disney Treasure Western Caribbean Cruise: Day Six – At Sea

We were both having the absolute best and most wonderful time onboard the beautiful Disney Treasure so waking up just after 7:00am and having a whole day at sea to look forward to was an incredible feeling. We had lost an hour of sleep due to the time change overnight and when I walked up to Deck 11 to get us both tea and pastries for breakfast, it was so quiet and Marceline Market was completely empty. 3. Disney Treasure Western Caribbean Cruise: Day Four – Grand Cayman

I was in a deep sleep when the entire Disney Treasure was woken up by a loud announcement at 4:30am. I remember hearing the words “Red Parties” and “Incinerator” and even though this might have sounded alarming to some onboard, I have heard something very similar on another cruise that we have sailed on before. However this was also not the first time that we have been woken up in the middle of the night on a cruise and as there were no other announcements made, we simply turned over and went straight back to sleep. 4. Disney Treasure Western Caribbean Cruise: Day Three – Cozumel

I really wish that I could start this blog by saying that I had a great night of sleep but the truth was I barely slept all night and I have absolutely no idea why. I’m not sure if I was just overtired but as much as I tried, I struggled to sleep more than an hour or two at the most. I finally gave up trying to get back to sleep once more about 6:30am so walked up to Deck 11 to get some much needed tea to bring back to our stateroom where I sat on our verandah enjoying the fresh air whilst watching the sun rise over the Mexican coastline. (more…)

  5. Disney Treasure Western Caribbean Cruise: Day Two – At Sea

After nearly eight hours of sleep, I woke up just after 7:30am which was the latest I had slept all week since we arrived in Florida and a clear sign of just how tired we both had been the night before. It was already light outside so I got out of bed and stepped out onto the verandah to an absolutely beautiful and perfect morning with a little humidity in the air and my camera lens immediately fogged up as a result. We were incredibly lucky with the weather during our cruise aboard the Disney Treasure as we had no rain whatsoever the entire week and perfect bright blue skies every single day. (more…)

  6. Disney Treasure Western Caribbean Cruise: Day One – Port Canaveral

I sometimes find myself wondering why I take the time to write these blog posts. Between having a full time job that often leaves me exhausted and the time it takes to put each one together, it is definitely not a quick process. But honestly even if no one else ever reads them, I love having a personal diary of every cruise that I take. It’s so much fun to write about all of my trips and then look back on them later to keep my memories alive. And this time I have to share just how absolutely beautiful, amazing and special the Disney Treasure is – it’s something that everyone needs to know about! (more…)

  7. Everything You Need To Know Before Visiting Verona

The beautiful and fair city of Verona in Italy which is well known to many around the world as the setting of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet has so much more to offer than just a tragic love story. The city’s historic centre – a UNESCO World Heritage Site – is filled with historic castles and incredible architecture throughout and unlike the crowded streets of Rome, Florence or nearby Venice, Verona also feels so much more relaxed which makes it a perfect spot to explore Italy at a much slower pace.
