One of the places I was most looking forward to on our road trip from Atlanta to Galveston last November was the Tabasco Factory and Museum which is located on Avery Island in Louisiana. I love Tabasco and usually have several bottles of the holy grail of hot sauces in the kitchen cupboard at home – the Garlic Pepper one being my favourite. When we were planning our road trip, we decided to stay in Lafayette the evening before our visit as it was not only close to the I-10 but also only a short forty minute drive to Avery Island itself. The very first time I heard about the village of Hell on the island of Grand Cayman in the Cayman Islands was when I was a child watching a travel show on the television one evening. Castaway Cay (pronounced Key) is Disney Cruise Line’s private island in the Bahamas and is the highlight of the majority of Disney cruises. The only way you can visit Castaway Cay is to take a Disney Cruise and even if not a beach person like myself, you will find it a little piece of paradise. The palm trees, blue skies (most of the time), crystal clear water and beautiful white sand beaches make it a perfect place to relax.
