1. What Does a Closed Hong Kong Disneyland Look Like?

Last month it was announced that both Hong Kong Disneyland and Shanghai Disneyland would both close for the foreseeable future to help prevent the spread of the Coronavirus. I had originally planned to visit Hong Kong Disneyland last week when I was in the city for work to renew my Magic Access annual pass. However I decided to visit the resort just to be able to see what a closed Hong Kong Disneyland looks like with no one else around. How could a place that I’m so used to seeing full of people suddenly be so empty? (more…)

  2. How to Get From Hong Kong Airport to Hong Kong Disneyland by Bus

On my last trip to Hong Kong, I stayed at one of the airport hotels and I found out that it is possible to take the bus from Hong Kong Airport to Hong Kong Disneyland. In the past I have always taken the MTR train to the park (whether it be from Hong Kong Island or from Tung Chung Station which is close to the airport) so I was interested to see how easy this bus journey would be especially as I have barely used the bus in Hong Kong on my previous visits. It turns out the journey is incredibly easy and as I always do, I have taken photos so you can also see how simple it is. (more…)

  3. Visiting Tai O Fishing Village in Hong Kong

Tai O is a small fishing village located on Lantau Island in Hong Kong and has been on my list of places to visit for a long time. Given the amount of times I’ve been to Hong Kong, I’m embarrassed it has taken me this long to visit but each time I planned to go, the weather was never on my side. However given the current situation in Hong Kong, I have recently had to stay close to the airport (which is much closer to Tai O) on each of my trips instead of on Hong Kong Island. Thankfully I have still been able to do everything I always do in Hong Kong and last week, I finally visited Tai O – and the weather was perfect which made the day even better and worth the wait. 4. 10 Free or Cheap Things to do in Hong Kong

Visiting the incredible city of Hong Kong can be an expensive experience however it does not have to be. There are so many free things to do in Hong Kong as well as so many cheap things to do in Hong Kong so you’ll be able to see most of the city without having to spend a lot of money. (more…)

  5. The B Duck Cafe – Yuen Long, Hong Kong

It had been some time since my last visit to a character cafe in Hong Kong so when I found out there is now a B Duck Cafe located in the New Territories, I quickly added it to my list of plans for my next trip to the city. There is not much English information at all online about the B Duck Cafe – all I really knew was that it was located in the Yoho Mall in Yuen Long close to the border with Mainland China. (more…)

  6. Disney Character Egg Hunt – Hong Kong Disneyland

Every year during Spring over a hundred different Disney character themed Easter Eggs appear across Hong Kong Disneyland Resort as part of the Carnivale of Stars event. Easter and Springtime are two of my favourite times to visit Hong Kong Disneyland as the decor is beautiful and it’s before the hot and humid summer weather arrives. (more…)

  7. Visiting Sky100 in Hong Kong

Sky100 is an inside observation deck located 393 metres above sea level on the 100th floor of the International Commerce Centre in Kowloon, Hong Kong. It had always been on my list of places to visit for many trips but it was something I never got around to doing. However when I visited Hong Kong for a weekend last September, I finally made the trip. (more…)

  8. The Braemar Hill Lookout – Hong Kong

As much as I loved my hike to Jardine’s Lookout in Hong Kong last year, I knew that there was a very similar but equally as amazing view of Hong Kong Island and Kowloon which I wanted to see and had yet to discover. After a little bit of research, I discovered that the view is from the Braemar Hill Lookout (also known as the Red Incense Burner Summit) and is known as one of the easiest and quickest “hikes” (it’s more of a short walk as you take the bus most of the way) in Hong Kong. (more…)

  9. How to Walk up to The Peak in Hong Kong

The view of Hong Kong from Victoria Peak is one of the most iconic city views in the world and is usually at the top of every to-do list when visiting Hong Kong. The easiest, quickest and most popular way to get to the Peak is to take the famous Peak Tram which takes seven minutes to get to the top however there can often be long lines which during busy times of the year and on clear days can sometimes be several hours long. (more…)

  10. Hong Kong Disneyland Planning Guide

Hong Kong is one of my most visited cities in the world so it would make sense that Hong Kong Disneyland is my most visited Disney park in the world. It really is my happy place and I try to visit every time I’m in Hong Kong (which is usually once a month) even if it’s just for a few hours each time.

I recently wrote a planning guide for visiting Shanghai Disneyland so it is only right that I do the same for the amazing Hong Kong Disneyland that I have visited more times than I can honestly remember. I really hope that it will help anyone who is planning a trip to Hong Kong. (more…)
