Last year when we stayed at the iconic Wigwam Motel in Holbrook whilst driving Route 66 through Arizona, we said we would also love to stay at the other location in San Bernardino but unfortunately for us on that trip, we simply did not have enough time to be able to fit both into our plans. We did however make a quick stop when we drove past the motel on the final day of our road trip on our way to Santa Monica and said that we would definitely come back and stay on a future trip to California. We made sure to keep that promise that we made to ourselves so whilst in Los Angeles for work this summer, we drove to San Bernardino for one night to finally stay there and sleep in a wigwam once again! Staying at Aulani, a Disney Resort and Spa located in Ko Olina on the island of Oahu in Hawaii really was a dream come true for me. We had originally booked to stay at Aulani back in 2020 which as we know did not happen so I was excited when we could eventually rebook for our rescheduled trip in 2022. After waiting for what felt like forever to get there, it was truly perfect and everything we could gave hoped for when we finally began our Hawaiian adventure that we had looked forward to for so long. Earlier this year we finally travelled to Hawaii and stayed at Aulani (one of our bucket list hotels) after our original trip was cancelled in 2020 (we all know what happened there) and I am happy to say that we had an incredible time. I had always wanted to stay at the beautiful Tokyo Disneyland Hotel since I first saw it being built and always wondered what it would be like to stay there.  Fast forward to this year when we visited Tokyo Disney Resort for four nights for my birthday and decided to not only book the Hotel MiraCosta for two nights but also the Tokyo Disneyland Hotel for the rest of our stay. It had been a dream of mine to stay at the beautiful Hotel MiraCosta at Tokyo DisneySea since the very first time I visited the park back in 2008. Who would not want to stay at a hotel that is located entirely inside the best Disney park in the world? When we visited Japan last month and spent four days at Tokyo Disney Resort, we decided to book a Harbor View room at the Hotel MiraCosta for two nights of our stay. Yes it was expensive and more than I’ve ever paid for a hotel room in my life, but if you cannot treat yourself for your birthday, when can you? (more…)

Last June we stayed the beautiful Paradise Lodge and Bungalows in Lake Louise for two nights during our road trip of the Canadian Rockies. One of my favourite things about the hotel (apart from the views and the amazing location so close to Lake Louise and Moraine Lake) was the Do Not Disturb Moose that was in our room. (more…)

One of the best things about my recent stay at Le Meridien Resort and Spa in Koh Samui was the incredible Do Not Disturb “sign” that was provided in each hotel room. I had seen photos of the coconut monkey on Trip Advisor before arriving so was incredibly excited to see one sitting in our room when we arrived at the hotel. (more…)
