1. Disney Treasure Western Caribbean Cruise: Day Seven – Castaway Cay

Waking up and seeing Castaway Cay in front of you can either be the happiest or the most saddest feeling in the world. On one hand you are happy as you have a day in absolute paradise but you can also feel so sad as the majority of the time, the view of Castaway Cay means that it is the last day of your cruise and that you will soon be back in the real world. It was truly a sad feeling for me on this day as I was having simply the best time onboard the Disney Treasure and I definitely was not ready to disembark the ship the following morning. (more…)

  2. Disney Dream Transatlantic Cruise: Day Thirteen – Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point

Thirteen days after we left Southampton and after five straight days at sea, I woke up just after 6:30am on our final day onboard the beautiful Disney Dream just as we were starting to dock at Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point – Disney Cruise Line’s new beach destination on the southern tip of the Bahamian island of Eleuthera where the Atlantic Ocean and the Caribbean Sea meet. (more…)

  3. Disney Dream Marvel Day at Sea Cruise: Day Five – Castaway Cay

On the final day of our Marvel Day at Sea cruise onboard the beautiful Disney Dream I woke up after a good night’s sleep and immediately walked out onto our verandah where I could already see Castaway Cay ahead in the distance. It was so strange to be back at Castaway Cay as I really was not expecting to visit at all this year but that is what happens when other cruise companies cancel your long-awaited trip and mess you around leaving you to find alternative (and as it turns out, much better) plans! (more…)

  4. How to Run (or Walk) the Castaway Cay 5K

At the top of my list of things to do when I visited Castaway Cay on the beautiful Disney Wish earlier this year was to finish the Castaway Cay 5K. Castaway Cay is Disney Cruise Line’s private island located in the Bahamas and despite visiting Castaway Cay four times prior to this cruise, I never imagined that I would ever be able to complete the 5K. However on this trip, I really wanted to push myself and try something new and different, so I decided to walk (as I cannot run to save my life) the Castaway Cay 5K. (more…)

  5. Visiting Ardastra Gardens in Nassau

As I have now visited the port of Nassau in the Bahamas several times in the last few years whilst on different cruises, I was recently looking online for something different to do on my next trip when I discovered Ardastra Gardens and Wildlife Conservation Centre. Ardastra Gardens is located 1.5 miles from Nassau Cruise Port and visiting the park by yourself is very easy to do so there is no need to pay for an expensive and overpriced organised tour as there really is no need. (more…)

  6. Disney Wish Back to Back Bahamas Cruise: Day Seven – Castaway Cay

After the best and longest sleep of our entire trip so far, I woke up just after 7:00am ready for our last full day onboard the beautiful Disney Wish. There was an incredible sunrise at sea that morning and sitting on the verandah with a cup of tea in hand with the view of Castaway Cay ahead of us was a perfect way to start the day. (more…)

  7. Disney Wish Back to Back Bahamas Cruise: Day Six – Nassau

Despite desperately wanting a lay in on this day, I was wide awake just before 7:00am which was the last thing I wanted after another late night and what I knew was going to be a long day ahead. I was also still feeling incredibly full after having such a wonderful dinner at Enchanté the evening before. After laying in bed awake for a few minutes and realising that I had to move, I decided to do something completely different that I had not ever done before on a cruise and that was to go to the gym! (more…)

  8. Disney Wish Back to Back Bahamas Cruise: Day Three – Nassau

On the third day of our cruise onboard the beautiful Disney Wish, I woke up at 6:30am ready for our first port day in Nassau. I walked out onto our balcony and it was already light out and the weather was absolutely perfect with no humidity at all which was going to make for a very comfortable day in the Bahamas. As there was only going to be the three ships docked in Nassau on this day, we had already planned what we were going to do and take advantage of a quieter port as we knew that it was going to be a lot busier later that week when we returned on the second half of our back to back cruise. (more…)

  9. How to Do Your Own Free Walking Tour of Nassau

The city of Nassau in the Bahamas is one of the busiest cruise ports in the world however nowhere else in the world splits people’s opinions like Nassau does. So many people have preconceived ideas about Nassau and believe that it is boring, unsafe and that you must book an organised excursion if you venture out as well as saying that you should just stay on the ship as it is not worth getting off at all! However you will soon happily discover that Nassau is a wonderful place to visit and there is a whole lot more beyond the port in Nassau other than Atlantis and Señor Frogs! (more…)
