1. Disney Dream Transatlantic Cruise: Day Twelve – At Sea

One thing that was incredibly disorientating on this sailing was just how dark it was outside every morning when we woke up compared to other cruises that we have sailed on. Even though it was 7:00am, it really felt like it was the middle of the night as the sky was pitch black – the only clue to it actually being morning was the sight of the crew setting up all of the sun loungers outside on Deck 11 ready for the day ahead. 2. Disney Dream Double Dip Halloween on the High Seas Bahamas Cruise: Day Four – At Sea

The title of this blog will immediately give away the answer of whether or not we made it to Castaway Cay in the Bahamas for the second time on our Halloween on the High Seas “Double Dip” cruise onboard the Disney Dream – but yes we did miss our stop on Disney’s private island that day as we were unable to dock due to Hurricane Ian which I had predicted earlier in the cruise. (more…)

  3. Disney Dream Double Dip Halloween on the High Seas Bahamas Cruise: Day Three – At Sea

On what should have been our port day in Nassau in the Bahamas on the Disney Dream, I woke up at 6:45am ready to spend the day at sea instead as the previous evening we had been told of a change to our itinerary due to Hurricane Ian. To avoid the worst of the storm they simply switched our sea day and our Nassau day around and overnight we had sailed away from Florida and the Bahamas and out into the Atlantic Ocean. (more…)

  4. Disney Dream Double Dip Halloween on the High Seas Bahamas Cruise: Day Two – Castaway Cay

On the first full day of our Disney Dream Halloween on the High Seas “Double Dip” cruise to Castaway Cay and Nassau I woke up just before 6:00am after sleeping solidly for over eight hours. As the air conditioning in our stateroom was working so well, the first thing I did as soon as I got out of bed was put all of our cameras and lenses onto the table outside on the verandah so they had plenty of time to acclimatise to the September heat and humidity before we reached Castaway Cay that morning – the last thing we wanted was for them to steam up when we wanted to take some photos. We sat out on our verandah chatting with a cup of tea as the sun came up and it really was a perfect way to start the day. (more…)

  5. Disney Dream Double Dip Halloween on the High Seas Bahamas Cruise: Day One – Miami

It really does only feel like yesterday that we were disembarking from our last Disney cruise back in May this year when we sailed onboard the beautiful Disney Wonder from Hawaii to Vancouver. The last four months have simply flown by so quickly and life has completely changed with cruising near enough back to the pre-pandemic “normal” that we used to know with Disney Cruise Line no longer requiring any testing for fully vaccinated guests and the much-missed character hugs finally returning onboard. (more…)

  6. Disney Dream Halloween on the High Seas Cruise: Day Four – At Sea

Once again after not enough sleep, I woke up early about 6:30am. I wish I could have slept in later as I knew that the following morning when we disembarked would be another early start. Today was our last full day onboard and we were going to be at sea for the whole day. A better description would be that we were going to floating around like a cork with minimal engine power close to Freeport for the majority of the day before finally heading back towards Port Canaveral in the evening. (more…)

  7. Disney Dream Halloween on the High Seas Cruise: Day Two – Nassau, Bahamas

After a few solid hours of sleep, I woke up early at 6:55am. I tried going back to sleep but that was never going to happen. After sitting in bed with some tea and watching the Good Morning Disney Dream show on the television, I looked out of the window to see that we were approaching Nassau. It looked very stormy outside with lots of grey clouds to be seen and we were also treated to the sight of a beautiful rainbow. (more…)

  8. Disney Dream Halloween on the High Seas Cruise: Day One – Port Canaveral

So the time had come round again for us to take another Disney Cruise. This would be our third and shortest cruise after sailing for seven nights on the Disney Wonder to Alaska in 2013 and for eleven nights on the Disney Magic across the Atlantic last year in 2015. However this would be our first time on the Disney Dream, our first Halloween on the High Seas cruise and our first time departing from Port Canaveral in Florida. (more…)
