1. Staying at the Wigwam Motel on Route 66 in San Bernardino

Last year when we stayed at the iconic Wigwam Motel in Holbrook whilst driving Route 66 through Arizona, we said we would also love to stay at the other location in San Bernardino but unfortunately for us on that trip, we simply did not have enough time to be able to fit both into our plans. We did however make a quick stop when we drove past the motel on the final day of our road trip on our way to Santa Monica and said that we would definitely come back and stay on a future trip to California. I knew that Discovery was on display at the Udvar-Hazy Center near Washington and also knew that Atlantis was on display at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida but had somehow completely forgotten that Endeavour was on display in Los Angeles despite being a frequent visitor to California. 5. Where to Get a Great View of Universal Studios Hollywood

Last year I found a photo on the internet showing a great view across the outside movie sets at Universal Studios in Hollywood – all the places you get to see if you’ve ever taken the Studio Tram Tour whilst in the park. With a little help from Google Maps I managed to find out where the photo had been taken. (more…)
