1. The Enchanté Dessert Experience on the Disney Wish

After having the most incredible dinner at Enchanté onboard the beautiful Disney Wish, we were very excited to return the following afternoon of our three night Bahamian cruise for the Enchanté Dessert Experience. We had never originally intended to book this experience but when our booking window opened, we saw that it was available and decided to make a reservation and I am so glad that we did as we both absolutely loved it!

Enchanté is a fine dining adult-only restaurant with menus by three Michelin-starred Chef Arnaud Lallement of L’Assisette Champenoise that offers both dinner and brunch as well as this dessert experience. As our reservation was at 2:00pm, we made sure to only have a light lunch beforehand so that we had room to savour all of the desserts. I know that some people book the dessert experience right after finishing Palo brunch but I would not recommend this as you would simply be too full to enjoy it.

After having a shower and getting ready, we walked up to The Rose on Deck 12 Aft a few minutes before our reservation. There is a dress code to dine at Enchanté and even though we did not dress as formal as we had done for dinner the evening before, we still wanted to put a little effort in as it is all part of the atmosphere and experience of being at Enchanté.

We were introduced once again to our amazing server Anthony who had looked after us so well the evening before at dinner and shown to one of the booths inside Enchanté. Every table inside the restaurant was occupied and we were told that there was a long waiting list in case of any cancellations (there were none) so booking early is essential.

Between making our reservation and cruising on the Disney Wish, we very nearly cancelled the Enchanté Dessert Experience but we are both so glad that we decided to go for it and keep our booking – after such an wonderful dinner at Enchanté, we already knew that the desserts were going to be good!

It was so nice to be able to see Enchanté in daylight which looked completely different to the evening before and to be able to appreciate and see even more of the different details in the decor. As we were docked on a very busy Saturday in Nassau, our view from Enchanté was of three other cruise ships – I can only imagine how much better the view would be on a day at sea instead.

Benoit welcomed everyone to Enchanté and then introduced Luis the sommelier who talked about the wine pairing that was available for $28 which included three glasses of wine – one for each pair of desserts. As it was too early for both of us to start drinking and as we had a long day ahead, we simply ordered a bottle of sparkling water instead.

The first of our six desserts arrived shortly afterwards which was the “Apple Tatin” consisting of a very thinly sliced caramelised Granny Smith apple along with caramelised puff pastry. It was the perfect level of sweetness and a great start to our dessert experience.

The second dessert was the “Crème Brûlée Beer Pie” which was made with Guinness. I really was not expecting to like this as much as I did (as I am not a fan of beer or Guinness) but the taste was so subtle and it really worked well with the creaminess and the sweetness of the rest of the dessert. It was so beautiful but you certainly needed to use both the fork and spoon provided with this course to be able to eat it correctly – I watched someone sat near us ignore their cutlery and try and pick the whole thing up with their hand just for it to break apart and fall everywhere as it was so delicate. I made sure I took my time to savour every bite as I was enjoying it so much.

Our third dessert was the “Lemon Meringue with Aloe Vera” which tasted so fresh, fruity, sharp and refreshing and the thin meringue along with the lemon curd, aloe vera syphon and lime zest was a perfect combination. I could have happily eaten another straight away as it was so good.

Our next course was “Strawberry Sorbet/Jam/Coulis” which was a strawberry sorbet on a layer of strawberry jam served with Reims biscuits and a strawberry and black pepper coulis. All of the elements worked perfectly together.

The fifth dessert was the “Paris-Brest” which was choux pastry filled with hazelnut mousse and served with caramelised hazelnuts which was my favourite dessert out of all six that we ate. It was simply divine.

The last and final dessert was the delicious “Chocolate Mille-Feuille” made with thin layers of crisp chocolate tuile wafers and Valrhona chocolate mousse finished with a dark chocolate and ginger sauce along with caramelised macadamia nuts and gold pralines.

All of the six desserts were absolutely incredible and were the perfect size so neither of us felt full or stuffed afterwards so we could enjoy the rest of our day onboard the Disney Wish. We spent an hour and a half in dessert heaven that day and it was well worth the $60 each that the experience cost.

I would definitely recommend the Enchanté Dessert Experience to anyone as it was a great way to spend an afternoon onboard. Go for it but just remember to book as soon as possible as it really is that good!
