Lunch at Enchanté on the Disney Treasure as a Vegetarian
Enchanté by Chef Arnaud Lallement is a fine dining, adult-only restaurant which can be found onboard the Disney Wish, Disney Treasure as well as the brand new Disney Destiny. In addition to Enchanté, Chef Arnaud also helped to create the menus for Remy onboard the Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy.
On our previous cruises, we had already enjoyed dinner at Remy on the Disney Fantasy, brunch at Remy on the Disney Dream and both dinner as well as the Dessert Experience at Enchanté onboard the Disney Wish. When we saw that lunch was being offered at Enchanté onboard the Disney Treasure, we knew that we had to book as we had loved all of our previous experiences so it was the perfect excuse to go back.
Something that has changed since our last visit is that Enchanté now offers a vegetarian tasting menu called Potager as standard so for the first time ever, I did not need to visit the restaurant beforehand to let them know that I do not eat meat. However I would still recommend letting them know in advance if you have any other special dietary requirements.
On the Disney Treasure, lunch at Enchanté is available on sea days and we had no trouble making a reservation and choosing our preferred date and time when our booking window opened 120 days before our cruise. Our reservation was at 12:15pm on the second sea day of our Western Caribbean cruise so after having a lazy morning onboard the ship and only eating a light breakfast, we made our way to The Rose – which is where both Enchanté and Palo Steakhouse are both located – on Deck 12 Aft.

The Rose is inspired by Beauty and the Beast which is one of my favourite films of all time with Enchanté inspired by Lumiere and Palo Steakhouse inspired by Cogsworth. We walked down the long hallway from The Rose that leads to Enchanté and were introduced to maître extraordinaire Lumiere who is hanging from one of the light fixtures and guiding us towards the entrance of Enchanté and I also noticed that you could even see the subtle outline of the plates from Be Our Guest on the walls which I had never spotted before.
As you enter Enchanté you are greeted by a stunning chandelier which is made up of 397 glowing gold bubbles which represent the bubbles in a glass of champagne and is a nod to Chef Arnaud Lallement who comes from the Champagne region of France.

As we had already experienced Enchanté in the evening when all of the lights in the restaurant glow, it was so beautiful to be there during the day especially with the sunshine and blue skies outside. We were shown to a table next to the floor to ceiling windows where we had a perfect view as we sailed past the islands of the Bahamas on our way to Castaway Cay.
We were also introduced to Hannah who was our incredible server and we began our lunch with a beautiful glass of Taittinger La Française which I had happily discovered at Remy whilst crossing the Atlantic on our last cruise onboard the Disney Dream and had absolutely loved – and coincidentally Teddy the sommelier who had first introduced me to it was also on this cruise too! It was also wonderful to see the label on the bottle as it was a special edition that was made especially for the inaugural season of cruises onboard the Disney Treasure.
Our dining experience began with our first surprise course which was two canapés each which were a warm falafel with a lemon gel drop on top which was full of so much flavour as well as a horseradish cream topped with beetroot and crème fraîche which was served on a delicate wonton shell.

After a great start to our lunch, Hannah presented us with a menu (which is the same for both lunch and dinner at Enchanté) and explained the different options that were available to us – there was the nine course Collection menu, the six course Passion menu, the six course Potager (which means Vegetable Garden or Allotment) vegetarian menu as well as items that you can order à la carte.
Naturally I chose the Potager menu which consisted of Tomato, Baby Carrot, Celery, Potato Gnocchi, Cheeses and Dessert which cost $135 whilst my boyfriend decided to treat himself to the Collection menu which included Tomato, Langoustine, John Dory, Gamberoni, Lobster “Hommage à Mon Papa”, Halibut, Turbot, Cheeses and Dessert which cost $205. Hannah also asked if either of us had any dislikes and I made sure to ask about the celery dish as I really dislike celery with an absolute passion however I was open to trying it – she told me the taste of celery was very subtle – as the exact same thing happened when we dined at Enchanté on the Disney Wish when the celery dish turned out to be one of my favourite courses of the entire meal.
One of the true highlights of dining at Enchanté or Remy is the sourdough bread which is freshly baked onboard the ship every day using dough that is made by master baker Frédéric Lalos in Paris. The bread was served with unsalted Échiré butter from the west of France along with Fleur de Sel. We made sure to try the butter first on its own before trying it again with the salt and the combination was absolutely delicious as always and the reason why the bread and butter at Enchanté and Remy is my biggest weakness onboard a Disney cruise ship!

My amuse-bouche arrived shortly afterwards which was pickled daikon radish rolled up and stuffed with courgette (zucchini), mushroom and cucumber and served with a green vegetarian dashi sauce. It was so refreshing and light and the taste was so flavourful for such a small dish.
Our first official course was Tomato which consisted of mini tomatoes which had been confit and steamed and filled with a tomato miso alongside a “fake olive” filled with mascarpone (but with no anchovy for me) and covered in olive brine and served with a sauce made of tomato vinaigrette, olives, shallots and lemon. To the side was a focaccia which was made in the same style as a croissant with plenty of butter and served with a different tomato vinaigrette. The final part of this absolutely wonderful dish was a glass of tomato water with tomato water ice cubes which I remember very fondly from our cruise on the Disney Wish and it was still just as good.
The next course was Celery which had a wonton tartlet shell for its base and was filled with hazelnut condiment, celery pesto, celery ricotta and parmesan. It was topped with a marsala syphon and finished with grated hazelnuts and served with a celery sauce that was added table side.
Once again the dish that I was most apprehensive about as I really do not like the taste of celery turned out to be one of my favourites of the entire meal as it had absolutely none of the celery flavour that you would normally expect. The moral of the story when visiting Enchanté is to go with an open mind as you may find yourself truly loving and enjoying something you never thought you would.

The next course was Baby Carrot and I was served organic baby carrots from the chef’s garden which were cooked in thyme and garlic and served with harissa and carrot condiment which added a touch of spice to the dish. Alongside that was a ravioli with carrot puree inside and a carrot glaze on top and the whole dish was finished with a Coteaux Champenois sauce that was added table side.
My main course was Potato Gnocchi which was gnocchi cooked in creme fraiche surrounded by a mixture of onions including cipollini onions which had been confit in brown butter. The dish was finished with onion pearls and a vin jaune sauce. I always look forward to the gnocchi at Enchanté and Remy as it really is that good and once again, I nearly had tears in eyes at how perfect it was as it simply melted in my mouth.

One major difference between brunch at Remy on the Disney Dream and lunch at Enchanté is that lunch includes a cheese course. The cheese is pre-plated for lunch whereas during dinner the full cheese trolley still makes its way around to each table in the restaurant. Our cheese selection included Ossau-Iraty, Comté, Brie de Meaux, Goat Cheese and Fourme d’Ambert which was served with apricots, figs and honeycomb. We were also offered more of that amazing bread which of course you cannot say no to because it’s just that good!

During the meal, Hannah gave me three words – Peanut, Raspberry and Chocolate – and asked me which one I would like my dessert to be based on. I immediately without hesitation chose Raspberry and I was served three different plates. One had a nougat and vanilla ice cream under a nougatine tuile covered in raspberry, almond, pistachio and vanilla creams and served with fresh raspberries and raspberry syrup. Another was a honey tuile with raspberry gel and the last one was a honey syphon with raspberry jam, raspberries and almonds.
The recommendation was to move between all three dishes but especially to make sure to dip the honey tuile into the syphon and scoop all the way down to the bottom to get all of the different flavours. It was truly sublime and I think this could easily be one of the best desserts that I have ever had.

Another difference from our brunch on the Disney Dream was the full selection of mignardises (also known as even more food!) was served at the end of our lunch at Enchanté to finish our meal. The selection included a beautiful coffee and praline tartlet, some amazing Canelé (which I had loved on the Disney Dream), lemon curd shortbread that was simply delicious as well as strawberry and vanilla pavlovas, raspberry pâte de fruits and mint chocolate bonbons which all went perfectly with the double espresso that I ordered.

Our lunch lasted just over two and a half hours (this is an experience that you want to savour and not rush) and the time simply flew by and I did not want it to end – it really was nothing short of perfect. I loved having lunch instead of dinner at Enchanté as I found it to be very relaxed, the views outside were beautiful in the sunshine (compared to in the evening when you cannot see anything except your own reflection in the windows) and I loved that I was not finishing an amazing meal late at night and going straight to bed with a belly full of food – we could simply continue enjoying the rest of our day onboard the beautiful Disney Treasure instead.
Having lunch at Enchanté also gives you the chance to experience the restaurant without having to compromise any of your evening dinner plans or miss out on other activities during the cruise especially as we were sailing on the Disney Treasure for the first time and had so much that we wanted to see and do onboard.
Whilst Enchanté is not a cheap meal, especially once you add the costs for wine or champagne pairings and any other drinks which could cause some people to experience a bit of sticker shock, it is an incredible experience especially if you love fine dining or are celebrating a special occasion.
I absolutely love dining at Enchanté and whilst I would not do it on every cruise, it really is something I look forward to and is always one of the highlights of the cruise for us. From the moment you sit down, it feels like an experience on another level and having a dedicated vegetarian tasting menu was so wonderful to see and made it even better. Enchanté is truly a fairytale at sea and for us, one that is worth every single penny.
